The page lists major policies and rules that Federal agencies have released for comment that have an informatics component, or that have an impact on public health data exchange, data management, and/or reporting. APHL routinely reviews these rules and engages with members of the public health communities and with partner organizations to provide feedback and comments on proposed rules. APHL also assembles available resources and provides guidance to help public health partners address these policies and meet requirements.
The rules listed below represent major new or updated policy releases that have received significant attention from APHL and the public health community. Click on the links below for more information, including a summary of the policy and its impact, links to the draft and final rule (when available), and relevant guidance or resources.
In addition to these policies, see also a list of Workgroups and Committees that APHL regularly attends and monitors. Note that APHL standards experts participate in many standards development groups, such as those organized by HL7, the TEFCA RCE, and FDA SHIELD.
