Riki advised that the HL7 processes (LRI-IG) are working their way around the Arata letter that says while there is a verbal statement stating that a single OBR with multiple OBX for newborn screening is desired, it is not the normative way. Either way is acceptable, and it is not constrained in the actual profile. The examples have been updated to include the examples showing multiple OBRs versus singles. The letter will be voted on by the V2 management group on 11/15 and will be on the TSC list for request for publication next week.
Sita S. (MA)-There is a New Hep C, RNA point-of-care test, and she would like to know what the LOINC should be. Per Riki, she can’t tell what the LOINC is, but it will be POC indicators. It will be more discernable by the performing organization. The device ID could be the thing that alerts the individual(s).
