Goals

Review progress on “What is SHIELD Article”:

• “What is SHIELD?” article creation. Steering Committe approves of the group moving ahead on this.

  • Review Progress on article development:

    • Eric has begun compiling content from Roadmap as well as previous SHIELD presentations. Will require significant editing.

    • Nirmala shared content that she compiled. This could be merged with Eric’s content and then edited

  • Alternate option - Kevin Schap spoke with Bob McGonnagle and CAP Today is interested in writing an article on SHIELD with their own authors. This would involve interviewing SHIELD leaders and reviewing existing SHIELD-related literature/content.

    • This option seems very attractive to the Communication Workgroup.

    • Eric will inform Ricki and Andrea of this opportunity and seek Steering Committee approval.

• Conference Presentation Opportunities for 2024.

  • Group spent rest of meeting reviewing opportunities for SHIELD presentations at upcoming industry meetings

  • EWC (Executive War College)

    • April 30-May 1, 2024, New Orleans, LA

  • ADLM - (formerly AACC)

    • July 28th-August 1, Chicago, IL

      • Call for Posters - Due February 15th, 2024? Not recommended

      • Call for proposals is closed for 2024. No date listed for 2025 proposals

  • API - (Association for Pathology Informatics)

    • Call for proposals now open. Deadline, January 21st, 2024

    • Conference May 20-23, Ann Arbor, MI

  • CAP

    • (October/November timeframe)

    • Likely already closed for 2024. Kevin will confirm.

  • HIMSS

    • Las Vegas, NV - March 2025

    • No information available on 2025 call for presentations posted as of yet.

  • Clinton Health Access Initiative (Stacy)

    • Monitor for opportunities to link up with key initiatives.

    • Annual meeting held in September

  • AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association):

    • Annual Symposium (Recently held in New Oreleans, November 2023
