• Riki to draft the ask to get LIS vendor input on current state and preference of use of OBX-18 alone, PRT alone, or a mix of both = there is no forum to easily reach all LIS vendors, so look at last CAP LIS reviews for AP (https://www.captodayonline.com/comparison-page-products/#anatomic-pathology ) and CP LIS vendor contacts (https://www.captodayonline.com/comparison-page-products/#lab-information-systems ) - proposed text: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EpawKcGolBTrLY1JPwlhLY3mUZj-11nCqh0Qhgl-XXw/edit?usp=sharing

  • we reviewed the text and discussed that besides LAW there are other interfaces to consider as well as not using any data exchange methodology, when using the same database or adding the information manually and how the UDI mapped / what it needs to be associated with in the underlying data

  • we are focusing on inter-organizational data exchange with the question of UDI location in V2 messages, acknowledging that this also could be communicated in CDA and FHIR

  • Next steps:

    • Riki will send this updated text out to the LIDR group asking for input as well as asking if anyone has contacts for the LIS vendors listed in CAP that we shoudl reach out to
