Project Overview |
SHIELD (Systemic Harmonization and Interoperability Enhancement for Laboratory Data) is a multi -stakeholder, public-private partnership to improve the quality, utility and portability of electronic laboratory data (i.e., in vitro diagnostic [IVD] data) through the harmonized implementation of semantic data standards that have been appropriately qualified by a sole authoritative source. The Implementation Committee is responsible to develop a staged and comprehensive plan to implement SHIELD harmonized standards nationally. The Committee shall support active implementation of SHIELD standards, create an environment of buy-in of all stakeholders, build and provide Technical Assistance (TA), where needed, create the implementation plan. Need to work closely with Communications/Training/Education and the Tooling, Technology and Knowledge management Committees. |
High-Level Scope |
Deliverables · Develop a strategy for development of materials to help labs, to assemble and train TA staff and deploy to support labs in the adoption of SHIELD standards. · Develop a system of sister-lab partners to spread capacity to implement SHIELD Standards · Would be good to reach out to LIMS vendors and have them support their customers – and then build cohorts based on their LIMS use · Plan a small grants program to provide support tailored to particular lab needs · Helpdesk to address implementation questions – from those we can then develop an FAQ library as part of the knowledge library |
