 Pivot implementation question

Doug’s last day with Deloitte is next Monday and he'll be joining APHL 5/12 (smile)

Pivot implementation question related to Expansion of Centralized ELR to other use cases besides SARS-CoV-2:

  • How to treat X usage - can be ignored

  • R - create an error

  • Error log file - should not include PII

    • include message control ID (MSH-10) the accession ID (SPM-2) and specimen ID (SPM-17.1) in addition to the errors

  • Mapping conditions to causative agents:

    • will have to give Clin. Architecture the value sets for LOINCs and SNOMED CT to condition mapping = RCMT, but they have not been updated for a while (still version 14.3); Jerry may help CDC teach someone there how to do this late summer

NIH OTC reporting project:

  • de-identified messages for OTC-reporting - provide a list of expected errors:

    • ORC-3.1 - should match SPM-2.2, since that is not stripped, don’t strip

    • Completely strip ORC-14/OBR-17, so would not be an error

    • OBX-24 should match the specific address for each of the OTC types; but stripping this might cause errors at PHAs - expected error

    • strip NTE entirely and you won’t have errors

  • User has option to decide: not report, report anonymously, report

    • plan on building a filter to catch de-identified messages and send those ONLY to Protect

  •  Review the list of SOP worthy topics and add more (what do you think folks need to know, if they are taking over your work, or what skill do you know one of us has, that you would like to learn more about)
