Updates

  • Welcome Stacy - brief round of introductions

Follow up from LOINC Conference

Patient Generated Health Data cross cutting session two Friday at the LOINC meeting: Listening the LOINC discussion:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzkfK3Mc-48   (near the end ~ 1hr 56 mins through 2 hrs 25 mins) brought up this topic for SHIELD to consider

Discussion:

  • Originated from a zulip chat looking for a LOINC for continous Glucose monitors, or wearable insulin pump/measure (ADD LINK); also albumin testing, at home testing for COVID etc, apple watch heart rate (not a lab test, but still relevant for LOINC)

    • suggestion was to use Glucometer LOINC, since that is the only one out there

    • Consider NEW LOINC for these types of tests

    • Request that device manufacturers request LOINCs, if none available

  • this is broader than SHIELD

  • will continue to be a topic of the lab LOINC Committee - next call Nov 16, feel free to join

  • Is it within SHIELD scope to come up with any guidance around this?

    • ONC: providing input in form of a comment on a USCDI data element/class or ISA page would be the most impactful means to get record and can be updated over time

  • Have reached out to Pam to see, if this could be a special topic call later - wait for input from the Lab LOINC meeting

Review Working Groups progress

Setting milestones for deliverables should be NEXT / create a milestone page for quarterly reporting?

SHIELD#2 call Topic Ideas

European Outreach

  • Update on NHS connection effort - Steve Box found a contact

  • Others?

Roadmap section updates in response to ONC comments on the SHIELD roadmap

We will talk about approach to updates in general and these specific comments in particular related to the ONC comments - set a deadline to have these reviewed and addressed!
