For each program, when a new encoding guideline / value set list is created send notice to the project’s respective CCB list including the list of deprecated codes.
We will remove the location designation in the SARS-CoV-2 FSN for the Panglion lineages, because that is no longer part of the nomenclature
We will keep the word “variant” in the FSN for SARAS-COV-2 pangolin lineage concepts for these reasons: we have a shorter preferred name that can be used many program still do queries based on words and including variant covers these Pangolin linage terms and the WHO variant designations
We will create new concepts for the WHO designations (alpha, gamma, delta, etc.) using the SCT concept of SARS-CoV-2 (organism) as their parent and assign these as additional parents to the pangolin lineage terms when appropriate
For now use the SCT concept of SARS-CoV-2 (organism) as as the parent for all extension concepts (we need more lab SME input and understanding of need before spending time updating the parents for sub-lineage terms)
