 LIDR White Paper Review

Reviewing the comments on the LIDR White Paper = https://aphlinformatics.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SC/pages/2020966449

  • Stan’s comment mentions order codes:

    • start at “need for more LOINCS than might not be provided by manufacturers”

      • decided to add examples to make clear LIDR will include all codes needed, even if those are not provided by manufacturers

    • can’t have all concepts included in LOINC - there are additional that need to be exchanged, so those need to also be covered in LIDR

    • temporary LOINCs - we decided to switch to sayin use of local codes for temporary use, since Regenstrief should be the ONLY central place making LOINCs - they have a process to request expedited review (beyond emergency use), so use of local codes could be minimized

      • APHL’s PLT codes are always created as part of the LOINC submission, even if they end up not ever being used, if the LOINC is assigned fast, but it is helpful to have the “papertrail”

  • Next week we’ll review: https://aphlinformatics.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SC/pages/edit-v2/2020966449#Functional-requirements---Stan - please read beforehand and have any comments ready
